New Veracode CEO Brian Roche said the emerging field of application risk management uses artificial intelligence to fuse traditional application security with cloud security and manage risk more effectively. The company acquired Longbow Security to give security practitioners a comprehensive view of both developer-created assets as well as those in production to help companies prioritize remediation (see: Veracode Promotes Brian Roche to CEO, Buys Longbow Security).
"There's a tectonic disruption that has occurred in the market, and that tectonic disruption is artificial intelligence," Roche said. "I have been leading the way and championing this - the application risk management platform notion. It gives us the opportunity to put our foot on the gas pedal here and build out that application risk management platform."
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Roche also discussed:
- How artificial intelligence can streamline risk assessment and remediation;
- Further strategies to incorporate AI across Veracode's product suite;
- How integrating Longbow Security will enhance Veracode's capabilities.
Roche became CEO of Veracode in April after spending three and a half years as the company's chief product officer. He is an expert in application security engineering, cloud-native technologies, cloud operations and AI. Over the course of his career, Roche has led multimillion-dollar software and services businesses in various leadership roles at EMC, Cognizant and most recently at Medidata.
