Information Security Media Group, the leading media provider to the information security community, hosted its latest Fraud and Breach Prevention Summit in New York on August 2 and 3. The event brought senior-level security and fraud practitioners and risk managers from multiple verticals, including healthcare, retail, education and the public sector.
“Organizations want insight into fraud and data breach challenges,” says ISMG CEO Sanjay Kalra. “Our New York Summit provided attendees access to cybersecurity leaders from the largest financial institutions, to law enforcement agencies like the FBI and secret service, in an intimate setting, arming them with concrete strategies in counteracting the threat actors under a wide variety of scenarios.”
Phil Reitinger, President & CEO at Global Cyber Alliance and former Deputy Undersecretary for Cybersecurity at the Department of Homeland Security, delivered the Tuesday keynote address “Systemic Cyber Risk: Welcome to the Bronze Age,” which addressed ways the IT security community can improve their risk management posture. On Wednesday, winner of the 2016 RSA Excellence in the Field of Information Security award, Roland Cloutier, Senior Vice President and CSO, ADP, delivered the keynote address, “Advancing a Leveraged Defense-in-Depth Approach: Protecting Tomorrow’s Digital Economy from Fraud,” about multidisciplinary approaches to prevent fraud and mitigate attacks in today’s advanced threat environment.
Industry influencers from the cybersecurity community led sessions in both the Fraud and Breach Prevention tracks throughout the event. Subject matter experts from organizations such as PwC, Arbor, Fiserv, NICE Actimize and Venafi led sessions on fraud defense for emerging payments channels, reducing network attacks via encrypted SSL vectors, and improving credentials management.
The New York Fraud & Breach Prevention Summit was just the latest in a global series of information security events ISMG is conducting throughout 2016. ISMG’s global Fraud and Breach Prevention Summit series continues through the rest of 2016 in Singapore (September 1), Toronto (September 13-14), Dubai (October 9-10), and London (November 8). ISMG also will host its yearly Healthcare Security Summit, which focuses on cybersecurity challenges unique to the healthcare industry, in New York November 1 and 2.
