Nominet's Dave Polton on Recent NYC Roundtable Discussion
Cyber Confidence: Why it Matters

ISMG and Nominet recently hosted a NYC roundtable discussion on the topic of cyber confidence. Dave Polton of Nominet reflects on the key takeaways and why cyber confidence is now one of the sector's hottest topics.

"I thought it was fantastic, actually," says Polton, VP of solutions for Nominet. "Following our report where we surveyed a large number of CISOs, it was fantastic to get a segment of the market, such as the finance segment, in order to try to understand whether that was the same sentiment ... or whether it was particularly different."

The result? "They were definitely a little bit more confident, I would say, in their cybersecurity practices than perhaps our report showed."

In an interviewing following this roundtable, Polton discusses:

  • His reflections on the discussion;
  • Why cyber confidence is important to Nominet;
  • The value of such roundtable discussions for attendees.

Polton has more than 20 years' experience in cyber security and is now VP of solutions for Nominet's cyber division. Previously, he spent 15 years at NTT Security, responsible for global technical innovation, as well as strategy and product management.
