Hatem Naguib on Charting Barracuda's New Course Under KKRNaguib Expects Barracuda to Drive Midmarket Growth Under New Private Equity Firm
President and CEO Hatem Naguib expects Barracuda Networks to pursue more midmarket growth opportunities in both North America and internationally under KKR's tutelage.
The Silicon Valley-based company will get a new private equity owner later this year, moving from Thoma Bravo to KKR's control for a reported $4 billion in an acquisition announced in April. Barracuda will retain its focus on the midsize market under KKR but leverage the private equity firm's global presence to strengthen its support for managed service providers and customers outside North America (see: KKR Buys Barracuda from Thoma Bravo to Fuel XDR, SASE Growth).
"KKR comes with a broader amount of experience," Naguib says. "They are a larger private equity firm with a far more distributed portfolio and worldwide presence. And I think that breadth of experience lends itself much better to a company like ourselves, which is really looking to grow and expand the business, both domestically and internationally and in multiple verticals across the midmarket."
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Naguib also discusses:
- The biggest emerging security needs for midmarket customers;
- What differentiates Barracuda's approach to SASE from its rivals;
- The top cybersecurity trends to watch at Black Hat USA 2022.
