Enhancing Security With a Fit-for-Purpose Enterprise Browser

A secure enterprise browser is tailored to the needs of the organizations and "fit for finish," unlike feature-rich consumer browsers used by over 2 billion people in the world, said Poornima DeBolle, co-founder and chief product officer at Menlo Security. DeBolle explained why enterprises require a browser that prioritizes security and manageability over extraneous features.

A major distinction lies in the vulnerabilities browsers face. DeBolle put them in two main categories: zero-day exploits and leveraging browser capabilities for malicious purposes. A secure enterprise browser delivers a good user experience while ensuring robust protection against zero-day and zero-hour phishing attacks.

"A feature-rich browser has a lot of code. It has a lot of software. And within that software, there are zero-day exploits," she said. "That's one way a browser is targeted. A threat actor can direct you to a website and is able to exploit a zero-day vulnerability to compromise the browser."
