Assessing Priorities, Analyzing TrendsThe recently announced federal plan to launch HIPAA compliance audits has renewed interest in the status of healthcare organization's privacy and security policies and procedures. To prepare for audits, experts are advising hospitals, clinics and others to update their risk assessments and make sure their policies are actually being carried out (see: Top 10 Tips for HIPAA Audit Prep).
How much security work needs to be done at hospitals, clinics and insurers? To help identify security gaps, program priorities and technology investment plans, HealthcareInfoSecurity has launched its inaugural Healthcare Information Security Today survey.
We hope you'll take the time to participate in this groundbreaking study to help us measure efforts to comply with HIPAA and the HITECH Act and address security threats. The survey will investigate a broad range of issues, from social media policies to efforts to secure mobile devices.
By participating in this important research project, you'll help us provide you with a detailed analysis of the status of healthcare information security, which you can then use to compare your organization's efforts with others and gain insights that you can apply to your security program.
In the weeks ahead, we'll present survey results in a variety of ways, including an executive summary, annotated report, podcast analysis and webinar.
We truly appreciate your participation in this study. And we look forward to your feedback as we report on the results.
