How Often Will Blumenthal Tweet?

How Often Will Blumenthal Tweet?

Dr. Blumenthal's office within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is leading the way in carrying out the mandates of the HITECH Act. For example, it's heading implementation of the Medicare and Medicaid electronic health records incentive program.

Plus, the White House plans to have Dr. Blumenthal head a new interagency task force on health information technology.

Let's hope Dr. Blumenthal and his team make better use of Twitter to get the word out about their activities.

A while back, Dr. Blumenthal added "the Health IT Buzz Blog" to the ONC Web site.

But his blog entries have been few and far between. Let's hope Dr. Blumenthal and his team make better use of Twitter to get the word out about their activities.

Day one of the ONC's Twitter adventure, however, didn't get off to a great start. On Feb. 25, the only tweets available at ONC_HealthIT, offered a welcome and a link to old announcements. But even that immediately attracted hundreds of followers, including me.

By the way, you can find my tweets at healthinfosec. And I'll be providing updates from the HIMSS Conference, where Dr. Blumenthal is a keynoter on March 3.
